We will start our journey in northern Puglia in the Daunia and Castel del Monte area to continue towards Valle d’Itria and Manduria, and end our tour in the sunny Salento area, known also for the Tarantella dance. A Virtual Taste Of Calabria Dream yourself away for a moment to a happy place at the toe of the Italian boot. This region was called Enotria in ancient times, and now it is known as Calabria. Learn about wine in Calabria while you kick back on the couch with a glass of wine close at hand. We will explore different wine areas starting with Cirò by the Ionian Sea in the northeastern part of Calabria and then continue to Cosenza, Saracena, the Tyrrhenian coast, and end in in Bianco in the far south. Gaglioppo is the grape with a big G in Calabria, however, we will also look closer at Greco bianco, Mantonico, Magliocco, and Moscatello di Saracena. We will start our exploration in northern Campania close to Caserta and then towards Vesuvio, Campi Flegrei to continue south to the Amalfi coast and South of Salerno. We will end our journey in Irpinia in the inland towards the border to Puglia and Basilicata. There are shelves and shelves of red wines in every grocery store and wine shop you walk into, but how can you find what you're looking for based on the label without being a certified sommelier? It's easier than you think, and during this class you will not simply taste a carefully chosen selection of some seriously bad ass reds from across the globe but you'll learn about the different styles and how to identify what you like and dislike about each. This is a fun and interactive class with an emphasis on developing your palate. You will learn how to both recognize signature aromas in traditional black grape varietals and explore tannin, fruit, acidity and body, which when combined will help you determine what styles of red wine you enjoy the most.

Rosés are everywhere, and seem to come in every format: from huge magnums to skinny cans, rosés have cemented their place in hallowed wine aisles and on restaurant menus everywhere, but are they all the same?
